Canon's SELPHY compact photo printer aims to address this - it's a full lab-color 4" x 6" photo printer that prints straight from a camera or memory card, and is small enough to take to parties with you. Its dye-sublimation printing process is similar to what your local photo processing shop uses. Consider it the polaroid camera of the digital age.

Designed to make printing images quick, easy and effective, the SELPHY CP740 Compact Photo Printer features a two-inch color LCD display, red-eye correction and multiple direct printing options that cut the computer out of the printing process and can print straight from a camera or memory card.

As with other Pixmas, the iP6600D supplies versatile paper-feeding options so that it's easy to load letterhead and second sheets into separate trays or ordinary letter-size paper in one tray and photo paper in the other. When the same stock is loaded into both trays, the iP6600D can be set to switch from one tray to the other automatically for print jobs of up to 300 pages. It's easy to accidentally direct output to the wrong tray, so I recommend using the driver's Paper Allocation feature to specify the type of paper loaded into the cassette. Then, when printing jobs from your computer, the printer will switch to the autofeeder automatically if the cassette is not the best choice for the current job.

Paper passes between the heating element and a soft pressure roller to fuse toner to the paper.

1. Unplug the printer for at least ten minutes.

2. Verify that the thermistor connector is seated into
both the printer chassis and the ECU.

3. Remove the heating element connector from the ECU.
To measure the continuity of the heating
element, measure the resistance between the two pins
at the end of the cable.

NOTE: Normal resistance is 25 ohms +/- 10 ohms for the 110 V printer and 80 ohms +/-

C3200 Okidata color laser printer is a fast, one-pass, desktop colour printer that is ideal for the small to medium sized office - if you can find the space for it, as it's a big beastie. It has a 1,200 x 600dpi resolution and uses a USB 2.0 interface, although there is an Ethernet-equipped version, which would be more suitable for workgroup use.
Single-pass engines also tend to weigh less than their multi-pass counterparts but it would be difficult to know with the C3200 Okidata color laser printer as it weighs a hefty 20kg without any cartridges in it. Its 34.2 x 40.0 x 52.8cm bulk is down to the way in which the four toner cartridges and drums are installed; one behind the other, which makes for easy installation and replacement. As standard the C3200 Okidata color laser printer comes with 32MB of memory but this can be expanded up to a maximum of 288MB by using additional 64MB or 256MB modules. The printer has a quoted duty cycle of 35,000 pages per month.

Maintenance Page Count

This counter is reset by the servicer after a “80 ScheduledMaintenance” message displays (300K copies)and a maintenance kit is installed.

To view the Maintenance Page Count:
1. Select Maintenance Count Value from the Diagnostic menu.
2. Press Return to go to the previous menu.

To reset the Maintenance Page Count to zero:
Select Reset Maintenance Count. Pressing Select resets the maintenance page counter to zero. Reset Maintenance Count Saved displays momentarily. When the reset operation is complete, the menu returns to the Printer Setup Reset Maintenance Count screen.

This is for those who have more than one printer attached to their computer or who are accessing multiple printers through a network.
You can change the default printer to any other printer that you have connected to your computer This will simplify your printing tasks, since you can select the most frequently used printer to be the default. These instructions are for Windows.

The following instructions will show you how to set or reset one of them as the default.
1.Click on the Start menu and click on Settings, then Printers.
2.A window will appear showing the icons of all the printers that
are installed on your system. Right-click on the icon for the
printer you want to use as the default. A menu will appear.
3.Click on Set as Default.

To make sure the correct printer is now set as the default, right-click on the printer icon again. When the menu opens, a check mark should appear before Set as Default.

That is all there is to it. You should now see a little black circle with a check mark next to the printer icon of the printer you selected as the default printer. If you now have the correct printer set as the default, you can now close the Printers and Faxes window.
Now any time you want to change the default printer just follow the same process.

Perkembangan industri printer pada hari-hari terakhir memaksa kita untuk lebih serius mempelajari karakter-karakter printer terbaru sehingga gangguan-gangguan pada penggunaan printer yang diakibatkan oleh modifikasi ataupun hal-hal yang lain dapat kita cermati dan kemudian dapat kita berikan jalan keluar terbaik, berikut ini kami akan memberikan sedikit paparan tentang kerusakan-kerusakan yang sering terjadi pada printer inkjet dan tentunya yang kami sampaikan ini tidak lengkap dan jauh dari kesempurnaan, tapi kami berharap bisa bermanfaat, bagi kita para pengguna printer inkjet.
Permasalahan Pada Printer Inkjet
Pada printer Canon, Epson, HP, dan Inkjet semua type, jumlah pencetakannya akan selalu diakumulasikan hingga batas tertentu. Bila sudah mencapai batas yang ditetapkan, maka akan Overload dengan ditandai lampu LED menyala secara bergantian atau disebut dengan BLINKING dan bahkan mati total, jika hal ini terjadi, maka mau tidak mau printer harus dibawa ke service center. Hal ini tidak masalah jika rumah kita dekat. Lalu bagaimana jika Rumah Kita Di Luar Kota atau bahkan di Luar Pulau? Solusinya kita harus menservice sendiri printer kita, syaratnya harus punya software RESETTER dan trik bagaimana meresetnya. Dengan Software ini anda juga bisa membuka service Printer di rumah, dan pasti akan menjadi salah satu sumber uang.
Kenapa Blinking?
Sehabis proses head cleaning printer Anda tidak bisa nge-print? Tombol power dan tombol error menyala terus alias BLINKING. Jangan salahkan siapapun! Itu karena protection counter yang sedang menyelamatkan printer Anda, maksudnya protection counter tersebut memberitahu Anda bahwa tinta buangan dalam tangki penampungan sudah penuh.
Jika saja protection counter ini tidak memberitahu Anda maka tangki tinta pembuangan akan terus terisi ketika melakukan proses head cleaning dan penuh hingga membanjiri printer Anda dan kemungkinan printer Anda akan rusak total. Jadi akibat hal tersebut printer Anda tidak berfungsi dan tangki penampungannya harus di bersihkan/dikosongkan dahulu. Setelah itu Anda harus me-reset protection counter dengan bantuan software khusus.
Sayang sekali software untuk me-reset protection counter-nya tidak diberikan dalam paket penjualan printernya. Mungkin karena untuk mengganti/membersihkan tangki tinta penampungan membutuhkan skill teknisi. Memang, sedikitnya tangan Anda akan terciprat tinta tapi itu tidak masalah bukan? Tapi jika Anda tidak ingin terciprat tinta, sebaiknya Anda membawa printer Anda ke Service Center, jangan lupa membawa uang service sekitar Rp. 50.000,- plus ongkos jalan Anda! Dan rutinitas ini biasanya dilakukan 1 – 2 kali setahun tergantung pemakaian Anda!
Proses terjadinya blinking…
Printer Inkjet pada semua tipe, memiliki sensor untuk menghitung berapa jumlah kertas yang telah tercetak dan hal ini akan terus diakumuiasikan hingga mencapai batas yang
telah ditetapkan oleh masing-masing vendor printer. Apabila batas tersebut telah tercapai maka akan terjadi overload dengan ciri-ciri lampu
akan berkedip bergantian (merah-kuning, atau hijau-oranye) kejadian ini disebut dengan Blinking.
Sebenarnya Blinking maupun waste ink sebagai counter (penghitung) dimana kegunaan counter ini adalah untuk prepare jangan sampai limbah tinta di dalam printernya melebihi kapasitas busa / padnya (waste pad) sehingga kepenuhan dan luber, kalau sudah luber malah kotor khan .. dan bisa merembes ke part yang lain.
Kalau Anda memperhatikan modifikasi printer Epson atau Canon dengan menggunakan tinta infus, selalu dipasang botol kosong
dibelakang body printer tersebut. Mengapa ? Hal ini dilakukan agar yang dibuang pada saat pertama printer dinyalakan ataupun pada saat proses cleaning tidak memenuhi busa penampungan.
Selain kerusakan blinking pada printer, ada beberapa macam kerusakan lainnya yaitu :
- Indikator kerusakan akibat driver tidak benar
- Dokumen berwarna yang tercetak hanya 1 warna
- Warna cetakan tidak bersih
- Hasil cetakan dan tampilan layar tidak sesuai
- Teks yang divetak terpotong pada pojok kiri bawah, tepi kiri, atau tepi bawah
- Teks atau gambar tercetak terbalik (seperti efek kaca)
- Pembesaran/pengecilan tidak benarf
- File yang hanya satu halaman tercetak berulang kali, 2 kali atau lebih.
- Warna yang keluar bergaris atau tidak sesuai
- Garis lurus tercetak rusak/hancur
- Terlihat garis putih/bercak-bercak pada hasil cetakan
- Warna cetakan tergores atau tidak rata
- Printer tidak dapat mencetak
- Kertas tidak berjalan dari putaran printer
- Kerusakan pada rangkaian dasar seperti paper feed (pengumpan kertas), head printer, carriage (pembawa) head printer, power supply, electronic control package

3. Printer laser
- Indikator kerusakan akibat driver tidak benar
- Adanya tetesan, goresan dari daerah yang meredup
- Terdapat goresan hitam pada bagian depan kertas
- Pada saat mencetak, hasil yang ditemui hanya garis hitam horizontal
- Pada saat mencetak, hasil yang ditemui terdapat noda hitam dibagian belakang kertas.
- Hasil cetakan normal, tapi ada garis sepanjang sisi kanan
- Kerusakan pada rangkaian dasar seperti paper feed (pengumpan kertas), head printer, carriage (pembawa) head printer, power supply, electronic control package

Mereset Printer

Satu hal yang perlu anda ketahui adalah ongkos untuk mereset printer lumayan mahal
dan jika anda tahu bagaimana mudahnya mereset printer tentu anda akan bertanya kenapa begitu
mahal.padahal software yang digunakan untuk mereset merupakan software gratis yang dapat
diunduh dari internet tanpa mengeluarkan biaya (keculai anda di warnet tentu harus bayar)
Cara manual
1. Cabut kabel power printer (kabel yang menghubungkan printer dengan listrik)
2. Tekan tombol "Power On"dan tahan jangan dilepas langsung pasang kembali kabel power
printer
3. Setelah kabel terpasang, tombol "Power On" masih belum dilepas (tertekan) lalu tekan
tombol Resume 2 kali
4. Lepas semua (tombol Power dan Resume).
5. Anda bisa menggunakan printer anda sekarang.

Kelemahan cara manual ini adalah bila kabel power dicabut/dilepas atau padam listrik,
maka anda harus mengulangi prosedur di atas untuk dapat menggunakan printer anda kembali.
Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, solusinya adalah dengan menggunakan Software Reset sesuai
dengan jenis Printer yang akan di Reset

A computer printer, or more commonly a printer, produces a hard copy (permanent human-readable text and/or graphics) of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print media such as paper or transparencies. Many printers are primarily used as local computer peripherals, and are attached by a printer cable to a computer which serves as a document source. Some printers, commonly known as network printers, have built-in network interfaces (typically wireless or Ethernet), and can serve as a hardcopy device for any user on the network. Individual printers are often designed to support both local and network connected users at the same time.

In addition, many modern printers can directly interface to electronic media such as memory sticks or memory cards, or to image capture devices such as digital cameras, scanners; some printers are combined with a scanners and/or fax machines in a single unit. Printers that include non-printing features are sometimes called Multi-Function Printers (MFP) or Multi-Function Devices (MFD).

A printer which is combined with a scanner can function as a photocopier if so designed. Most MFPs include printing, scanning, and copying among their features.

Printers are designed for low-volume, short-turnaround print jobs; requiring virtually no setup time to achieve a hard copy of a given document. However, printers are generally slow devices (30 pages per minute is considered fast; and many consumer printers are far slower than that), and the cost-per-page is relatively high.
